Explore an underwater paradise just off the coast.
The coastal region of Machalilla National Park is perfect for accessible, life-filled dives. With rocky bottoms, coral patches, and rich marine life—turtles, rays, octopuses, and tropical fish—every dive offers a surprise. This tour runs most of the year, except July–September when manta ray tours are prioritized.

Tour Details

We meet at Exploramar Diving’s office in Puerto López to suit up and check equipment. Afterward, we head to the dock and board our dive boat. Sites are only 15–35 minutes away, maximizing water time and ensuring a relaxed pace.

We conduct two dives per day, typically 15–25 meters deep and lasting up to one hour, adjusted to your experience level. Each dive is led by a certified PADI instructor or divemaster for a safe and enriching experience. Ideal for certified divers and for beginners trying scuba for the first time through a Discovery Dive (no certification required).

Frequent dive sites include Los Ahorcados, Salango Island, Horno de Pan, Bajo Los Frailes, and Islote Sucre, each with distinct underwater topography and marine life. After diving, we will relax with a snack on board before heading back to Puerto López.

Itinerary

Meet-Up at Exploramar Diving (08:00 hrs)

We’ll meet our guides at the Exploramar Diving office in Puerto López to get to know the group, try on wetsuits, and complete a full gear check. Once ready, we’ll walk together to the dock to begin our marine adventure.

Boat Ride to Dive Sites (09:00 hrs)

We’ll board our dive boat and head to the dive sites located along the coast of Machalilla National Park. During the ride, we’ll enjoy scenic coastal views and, with a bit of luck, may spot dolphins, seabirds, or other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Two Guided Dives (10:00-13:00 hrs)

We’ll complete two guided dives, each lasting up to 60 minutes depending on depth, conditions, and the divers’ experience level. Between dives, we’ll rest onboard with snacks and drinks to stay energized.

Return to Puerto López (13:30 hrs)

After our underwater experience, we will have a snack aboard before sailing back to the Puerto López dock, arriving around 2:00 PM.
